French Crullers aka my favorite donuts of all time are back. And this time bursting with fall flavors and dripping with a finger-licking glaze.

It had to be done. Saturday morning was the picture-perfect fall day. The sun was shining in all its brilliance, crisp air smelled wonderful, and I was holding a freshly steeped cup of tea. The only thing missing… a donut, of course. My sweet hubby didn’t have to ask twice to hold one of them in his hands.

Oh, I should probably stop and apologize for already having two recipes with the words pumpkin spice on here. This early in the season. And in a row. Sawy! I seriously wasn’t planning any of this, but it happened, and it was absolutely dreamy. Can’t get enough! A fair warning – we have only just begun, but I’ll make sure to have lots of variety for you guys in the next couple of weeks as well.

Will you indulge me for another couple of minutes though? I promise it’s worth it ;). [Read more...]

It’s Funday Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Does it possibly involve a trip to your favorite coffee shop? I caved on Monday and had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the week. Goodness, did I miss that taste.

The temperatures drastically dropped this week, we’re talking mid forties early in the morning and a couple of chilly nights already. Apparently, it’s supposed to be back to the 70’s land next week, which I’m keeping my fingers crossed for. You never know with our MN weather. But I will say that that pumpkin spice latte tasted pretty amazing on a cooler day.

The only thing I didn’t like was the price tag. Paying more than $5 dollars for a cup of coffee is something I rarely do. Anything for a PSL though ;). I still kept wondering if I could achieve the same taste at home.

Who knew the only thing I was missing is Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup. [Read more...]

I am giving in to fall baking. It’s happening and I couldn’t be more excited about it, especially if that means we get to eat things like what I am sharing with you today. My caramel-apple-cinnamon-roll-pie dreams are coming true. Finally. I have been thinking about some kind of a caramel apple cinnamon roll concoction forever now, which means probably 2-3 weeks for me, ha.

Seriously, thinking about the perfect way to pair those three completely occupied my mind. Once I had the idea, I tried to hold out on executing simply because I refused to get an early start on all things fall. You know how anticipation makes things almost always better, like so much better?! Well, I think that might have happened with this pie.

I doubt that it could taste anything but delicious, but after taking my first bite of this, I almost fell into a foodie coma. I am pretty sure my taste buds had no idea what was happening…. but they couldn’t get enough of this breakfast/dessert mash up. [Read more...]

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I spent a large amount of my time working on a freelance project focusing on, wait for it, Christmas. That’s right. Our home was filled with sweet treats and with the aroma of the most wonderful time of the year. While I love working on side projects in my spare time, I couldn’t get over how weird it felt. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on later this year, but for now I’m glad we’re still months away from said holiday and on the verge of a massive PUMPKIN explosion.

Oh, and don’t forget about chocolate, which is perfect no matter what season we find ourselves in.

I don’t know about you, but we are huge football fans around these parts. Now that the regular season is in full swing (finally), I am all about making foods and snacks that can be enjoyed while cheering on our favorite team and Fantasy Football players. And these cookies definitely hit the spot. [Read more...]

Fall is definitely approaching. MN mornings are noticeably chillier now with beautifully warm afternoons. Change is in the air and I am finally starting to get used to the idea of cooler weather.

I am actually not dreading the fact that fall is well on its way, but the thought of winter that seems to be approaching quicker ever year, is something I’ve been avoiding. It’s motivated me to come up with a fun list of things to keep myself busy with once I won’t want to set a foot outside.

And you better believe there are quite a few kitchen projects I can’t wait to tackle. When I sat down to write said list, I took a peek at some of my other lists full of ideas I’d collected for the blog and things I wanted to challenge myself with.

When I glanced over the word bagels, it basically jumped off the page. Sunshine, snow or rain, bagels had to happen ASAP. [Read more...]
