Churros with Chocolate Dipping Sauce

Since I had successfully created these Apple Fritters back in September, I couldn’t wait to try other recipes that require frying. Feeling confident that I had learned my lesson, I pulled out my list of goodies to make and immediately found my next challenge . Churros. I have always loved these little sticks of fluffy goodness. Finger foods are one of my favorite things to make – convenient, fun to eat and pretty to look at. I was shocked at how easy these churros were to prepare and how few ingredients they require. The simple things in life are often the best – this is certainly a true statement when it comes to churros.

Spiced Crumb Bars

PumpkinCrumbBars

Monday Morning is here to welcome you with a sweet start to your week. I sure hope you had a wonderful weekend! We spent the last couple of days studying and getting caught up on housework. My husband was frequently found with his head buried in textbooks – preparing for the second out of three exams he has to take for his job this morning. I know you will do great, honey! While he was busy I was able to catch up on chores and fun projects. Sunday morning was filled with a family photo shoot of dear friends of ours . Fall is in full swing and we had to take advantage of its beauty. A Green Bay Packer win and a birthday party was the perfect way to end our days off. In hopes of sweetening the beginning of another week, I decided to make some scrumptiously Spiced Crumb Bars. I adore any dessert that’s topped with a crunchy and buttery topping. There’s just something about melting two layers of different textures together and enjoying both of them in one bite. Moist bars and crispy yumminess make a perfect team! [Read more…]

Glowing Skin Smoothie

If you’ve been following my blog for any amount of time, you are fully aware how much I adore baking, sweet treats and indulgent foods. While there won’t be a shortage of these posts in our near future, today I’ve been wanting to share a smoothie that’s not only good for you but also tastes amazing. You would never know that this stuff is healthy. You are probably as suspicious as I was about somebody telling you that this extremely green drink, which practically screams vegetables, doesn’t taste anything like leafy greens or raw produce. Vegetable avoiders can breathe a sigh of relief. I count myself among you, friends. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Oreo Cookies

OreoCookies8

This week must be the week of copycat recipes here at Deliciously Yum! We kicked off the week with Chicken and Gnocchi Soup – inspired by a popular restaurant favorite. Today we’ll take a look at Homemade Oreo Cookies.  Oreos are one of my favorite store-bought cookies. They are perfect for dunking into a tall glass of milk and who doesn’t like to take them cookies apart to get to the luscious cream inside? Do you enjoy the whole cookie or are you a twister like me? I tend to savor my food and always try to make it last as long as possible. Now that you developed a craving for Oreos but might not have any on hand, here’s how you make them. [Read more…]
