Not Your Average Scotcheroos

Let’s start Friday off right.

Not Your Average Scotcheroos by Deliciously Yum!

I have been dying to make a pan of Scotcheroos for quite some time now. Waiting for the right moment and a day on which my house wouldn’t have one too many sweets lying around. And then I thought to myself, is that really a realistic goal? As much as I love to share everything I make on this blog with our family and friends, we pretty much always have a couple of cookies and sweet delights stored somewhere.

Until the day we didn’t have any. And my husband’s family came over to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday. It was a Friday and I had been running around the house and trying to get some projects finished. Now I knew that we would be going out to eat and return to our house for present and game time, but I continued to stay as far away from the kitchen as possible that day.

Not until all of us were assembled in our living room, did it begin to dawn on me… we didn’t have a single item that contained chocolate chips in our cookie jar or anywhere else. My sister-in-law was quick to point out that I write a food blog, which centers around candy, brownies, and bars. I had no excuse. I was in disbelief myself.

So when I talk about starting Friday off right, I mean it. Never again will my home be treat-less. Anyone who enters our house from now on, won’t leave without a sweet surprise. The way it should be. Continue reading

Thick and Chewy Reese’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Thick and Chewy Resees Chocolate Chunk Cookies by Deliciously Yum!

You guys. Are you ready for another cookie recipe? Because I certainly am. Thick, chewy, and filled with chocolate and peanut butter. And lots of it. The base for this recipe is a peanut butter cookie dough, that is loaded with Reese’s Pieces and Chunks of luscious Chocolate. I love using chocolate chunks in my cookies. They melt beautifully into your cookies and are a bigger than your regular chocolate chip, which is always a good thing.

Not a single bite of this cookie will disappoint – they’re so perfect.

Yeah, this picture says it all. These cookies practically melt in your mouth. You’ll find it impossible to stop at just 3. That’s right, I assume that you’ll be eating at least 3 of them because how could you not? I have yet to meet someone that goes for less than that. Incredible is all I have to say. Continue reading

Indian Chai Tea with Marshmallow Whipped Cream

I am beyond excited to share this recipe with you.

Indian Chai Tea with Marshmallow Whipped Cream

So. You might know how much I love a perfectly steeped cup of tea. I may or may not be a tad bit obsessed when it comes to hot drinks. The hotter, the better. No matter what time of year it is.

In fact, I adore the heat. I am not just saying that because our current temp is somewhere around -25 degrees, but because I really do. Hot showers, heater blankets, and 85 degree weather… these are a few of my favorite things. Sorry, I couldn’t pass up that perfect “Sound of Music” moment, ha.

If you are looking to try something other than the same old breakfast tea or are a tea lover like me, you have come to the right place. This is a real treat.

You have got to try this. I know. I know. I pretty much tell you that about every recipe I post here and… this one is no exception. It’s da best. Continue reading

Cookies and Cream Popcorn

Cookies and Cream Popcorn by Deliciously Yum!

No day is more appropriate for a movie night with yummy snacks than today, especially when spring seems still so far away. As promised yesterday, I wanted to make sure you receive another recipe in which to use leftover Oreos and their yummy white cream (if you are planning on using those leftovers, you can still follow the recipe as written below but only use about 2/3 of the oreos it calls for).

This popcorn mix surely hits the spot. White chocolate combined with the best part of oreos, the white cream, and tossed with buttery popcorn and chunks of cookies – what’s not to love?

This would also be a fun treat for Super Bowl Sunday, which is now a little over a week away. You could add chocolate candies in the colors of your favorite team or anything else you like. This version is pretty darn good as is though – so creamy, crunchy, and perfect! Continue reading

3 Ingredient Thin Mints

Today we are doing this.

3 Ingredient Thin Mints by Deliciously Yum!

With Girl Scout Cookie Season right around the corner, I thought I’d get a head start by making my own. Well, these are semi-homemade. And for good reason. Some things can never be replicated. Simply because the iconic taste of something we truly love and are used to is really hard to reproduce. If you call something a copycat version it better be pretty close to the real thing. Know what I mean? It’s the worst when somebody promises you something that tastes just like the real deal only to be negatively surprised. To say I was a bit skeptic about making these cookies would be an understatement.

But I had full confidence in my ingredients. I wasn’t going to play with making my own dough and cutting out a million tiny circles (not that I mind), only to be disappointed when it comes to the taste factor. I figured that no matter what these turned out to taste like, they would undoubtedly be delicious since the starring ingredients are all lovely on their own.

And were they ever. Not only did they hold up to what I had envisioned, but they tasted exactly like the original Thin Mints. I was floored and have had the hardest time keeping them from you. No more stocking up on box after box and stretching your patience until you’re able to get your hands on another box, Thin Mint Season consists of 365 days from now on. Continue reading
