Okay, today we are talking cookies again. Ready? I know I certainly am.

These cookies were a total experiment on so many levels.

First of, I just can’t get Meyer Lemons out of my head. Something about this time of year has me craving citrus, especially these wonderful lemons. So yeah, we are using whole lemons in this recipe, rind and all. And you’ll be transforming them into one amazing little snack. Turning lemons into candy might one of the best things I’ve done in a while. I am already obsessed with them, but being able to eat these plain? I’m in big trouble. They are sweet, tart, sour and perfectly lemony all at the same time. It’s incredible.

Second, herbs in cookies. Do it. I know, I know. I was hesitant too, but always wanted to give it a go. So I picked one of my favorites and one that goes extremely well with lemon. It’s a classic combination that doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the sweet stuff either.

The way this cookie dough smells will knock your socks off. Just wait until you bake them. Mmmmmm. [Read more…]

Homemade Soft Pretzels

Make your own Soft Pretzels just like the ones you get at the mall. Sprinkled with sea salt – these pretzels are the perfect snack!

Homemade Soft Pretzels by Deliciously Yum!

Ever since making these homemade soft pretzels on Saturday, I have been looking forward to Monday like I haven’t in a while. When a recipe turns out as well as this one did, I just can’t wait to tell you all about it. So yeah, we had a pretty amazing weekend, which was mainly due to the discovery how to make one of our favorite snacks. Devouring a pretzel or two has been a staple almost every time we visit our mall. Never did I think that the same soft pretzels could be duplicated in the comfort of our own home.

Frosted Animal Cracker Confetti Cake Muddy Buddies

Frosted Animal Cracker Confetti Cake Muddy Buddies by Deliciously Yum!

Are you ready for some more sprinkle-action today? I know I am and I have a slight suspicion that you are, too. I’ve been itching to create another Muddy Buddy recipe for you guys for a while now. Snack mixes like this one are so much fun to make – and I love trying out new flavors. There’s always something sweet and colorful being prepared in our little kitchen :).

Since making this bark a couple of weeks ago, I knew that I wanted to use cake batter infused chocolate in more ways than just one. I mean, how could I possibly refrain? Making things taste like cake and not even having to turn on the oven? It’s a brilliant concept.

Oh, and since no cake is complete without frosting, I just had to add Frosted Animal Crackers. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? I haven’t had those little crackers in forever and it didn’t take me very long to figure out why. You just can’t stop eating crackers shaped like elephants, hippos, and cats dipped in white and pink frosting and finished with nonpareils. I dare you. [Read more…]

Chocolate Peanut Butter Whoopie Pies

A yummy peanut butter filling sandwiched between two cake-like cookie halves. Whoopie Pies are so easy to make and are a true crowd-pleaser. Whoop whoop!

I have always had a thing for sandwich cookies. When I saw a picture of whoopie pies the other day, I was instantly reminded that I had never had one. I really couldn’t explain why and was on a mission to change that ASAP.

Now I don’t know what’s inside a classic whoopie pie, but all I wanted to place in the middle of my homemade version was a rich and uber peanut buttery filling. Since chocolate and peanut butter are best friends, I was hopeful that they would play together nice this time around as well.

And did they ever. To say I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first bite would be the understatement of the year. I was thrilled to pieces when I was finally able to taste these amazing little pies for the very first time. I mean, just look at them. You know these have to be good! [Read more…]

Samoa Mug Cake

Samoa Mug Cake by Deliciously Yum!

So I finally jumped on the girl scout cookie train. I have certainly not missed the fact that the cutest little girls are out and about selling their well-loved cookies. Until two days ago, I had successfully avoided the purchase of said cookies. Not because I don’t support the girl scouts, but mainly because I know what serious damage we’ll inflict on those cookies once they enter our home.

With the temperatures climbing to a balmy 45 degrees on Monday, little girls were stationed at pretty much every grocery store entrance. There was no escaping, lol. Needless to say, I proceeded to purchase our favorite variety from one of our friends’ daughter. Most people are either on the Thin Mint or Samoa side. I even heard people say that you can’t be on both. That it’s impossible. I beg to differ. I refuse to choose between one or the other. But since I recently figured out how to make Homemade Thin Mints, I went for Samoas. And inspiration struck. I am this excited to share this recipe for Samoa Mug Cake with you today! [Read more…]
