Wow, Friday. It sort of caught me off guard that we’re entering the weekend already, which is certainly not a bad thing! Come to realize that Labor Day is just around the corner and that I will be seeing yellow school buses all over on my way to work Tuesday morning.

Goodbye summer – you will be missed. Until I’ll taste my first pumpkin-spiced coffee, that is ;). I secretly can’t wait to drive up to our coffee shop and purchase said beverage. I heard that Starbucks released theirs on Tuesday… not acceptable while we’re still in August if you ask me, but anything goes in September.

So as a last and definitely must-make summer treat, I made you some incredible bars. I stumbled upon them a couple of weeks ago and waited for the perfect moment to prepare them. They have Labor Day Weekend written all over.

And for good reason. Come along and find out how to make these scrumptious bars. Continue reading

Croissant French Toast Muffins with Streusel Topping

French Toast in muffin form. Yep, it’s a thing and you totally need to try it. You might never go back to the way you used to make French toast. It’s da best!

I hope you’re hungry. And just in case you aren’t, consider yourself warned. You’re about to be, especially if breakfast foods are your jam.

Brinner (aka breakfast for dinner) has always been a thing in the Deliciously Yum house. At least once a week, I prepare some of our favorite breakfast items and it’s honestly the one meal I look forward to the most.

Just because I’m not a huge breakfast eater in the morning, doesn’t mean that I don’t adore anything that has to do with the first meal of the day (at any other time ;).

Pancakes, breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls and the list goes on and on. I seriously love it all and French toast is no exception, especially when it comes in the form of muffins and is a cinch to prepare.

Are you in? Pull out the syrup – you’re going to need it! Continue reading

Nutella Truffles

Mondays call for chocolate and what better way than in the form of truffles?! These are not your average truffles though, they’re made with Nutella!

Happy Monday morning to you! This weekend seemed to have passed in lightning speed, which I’d foreseen. Time always flies fast when you’re having fun. And the last couple of days were packed with more than enough.

I’ll have some pictures to share with you later this week, but I first need to sort through image after image of mouthwatering food. Meanwhile, why don’t we concentrate on something else that’s also more than drool-inducing: Nutella Truffles.

Since chocolate basically runs through my veins, there is no escaping Nutella. Whoever invented that luscious chocolate spread and basically made it perfectly acceptable to enjoy chocolate first thing in the morning, was a pure genius.

But it certainly doesn’t have to stop there. There are so many different ways to enjoy it throughout the day and right now, incorporating it into truffles, is my favorite by far. Continue reading

Chocolate Chunk Cookie Butter Bars

Cookie Butter Bars are infused with cookie butter and plenty of cookie pieces & chocolate chunks. Don’t attempt to make them if you can’t handle a whole lot of cookie goodness in bar form. You won’t be able to stop at just one.

It’s Friday. Weeee!

I have been looking forward to this weekend for quite a while now. Not only is it time for the big Fantasy Football Draft (for both Adam and me), but the MN State Fair has finally opened as well.

We’ll be heading to the great MN get-together on Sunday and I am THIS excited. Can you tell? Even though the arrival of the fair always rings in the unofficial end of summer, I cannot wait to hold a fried on-the-stick novelty in my hands.

I will try my best at taking pics along the way, but I can’t make any promises – a bucketful of warm & gooey chocolate chip cookies from Sweet Martha’s requires two hands. One will be holding onto said bucket while the other hand will be busy chowing down so we can close the lid ;).

There are a couple of traditional things we eat and go see every year, but I’m always excited to try their new creations as well. I already printed off the list of new items… dessert salami, anyone?

Yep, the State Fair is my guilty pleasure. Speaking of which, I might as well let you in on another guilty pleasure of mine – Cookie Butter. Continue reading

Cherry Hand Pies

Buttery, flaky and absolutely scrumptious hand pies are at the tips of your fingers. Starring cherries – these tiny pies couldn’t be sweeter!

I am finally making my pie debut with a recipe that is so easy to pull off, you won’t be able to stop making them. I mean, who wouldn’t be able to spare 10 minutes in order to enjoy a freshly baked Hand Pie?

All day long is what I’m thinking :).

You could definitely fill them with anything you prefer, but I have always had a thing for cherries. I have great memories of my grandparents and me driving to a cherry farm and picking them fresh from the trees. Afterwards, we’d always sit on their balcony and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Before summer is coming to a close, I knew I wanted to create something that would bring back those fond memories of my childhood. Bite by bite, these amazing little pies are doing just that! Continue reading
