Strawberry ‘n Pineapple Lava Flow

Making smoothies in style à la Lava Flow. This strawberry and pineapple concoction is the best thing to enjoy on a HOT summer day.

Strawberry 'n Pineapple Lava Flow

Oh, how I love a good smoothie. When we find ourselves in the midst of summer (or just about) all I want is a fabulous smoothie and homemade sweet tea. If one could live on those two alone, I absolutely would. Years ago I made up my own sweet tea recipe and now I make several pitchers every week. I wouldn’t change a thing and can confidently say that it’s my favorite drink of all time. Smoothies, on the other hand, are a different story.

Smoothies are fair game. I like to switch things up, discover new combinations, and simply like to clear out my fridge and see what I can come up with. Most of my experiments are pretty tasty and ultra slurp-worthy.

When I spotted a can of sweetened condensed milk in my pantry one sunny morning, I was feeling naughty. Because that’s what it feels like when you drizzle that luscious milk into a super healthy smoothie. The best kind of naughty.

You NEED to give it a go. [Read more…]

Peaches and Mango Breakfast Bars

Breakfast Bars that are packed with nutrition and good-for-you ingredients. Plus, they taste amazing and are super family-friendly.

Peaches and Mango Breakfast Bars

You know you’ve had a good week when two posts in a row involve a lovely glaze. A simple sweet glaze is the best way to finish off a rather indulgent dessert (see Wednesday’s post) or to dress up a healthy breakfast bar. Not that you absolutely need to add the glaze… unless you’re anything like me, in which case a glaze becomes a necessity. Sugar is life.

Speaking of which. In today’s recipe you’ll find only natural sugars (minus the glaze), but you would never know hadn’t I told you. If these bars aren’t prove that healthy food is utterly delicious and just as satisfying as other alternatives, then I don’t know what is.

Peaches and Mango Breakfast Bars

Gone are the days of a bowl of cereal or peanut butter toast for breakfast. Once you enjoy a Peaches and Mango Breakfast Bar it will be hard to go back to your old staples. The feeling of having dessert for breakfast is an absolute thrill. It sets me up for a fabulous start to my day every time.

Let’s make breakfast the best meal of your day too. [Read more…]

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

Raspberry Cobbler in Dessert Pizza form. One of the very best ways to enjoy pizza!

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

No pizza night is complete without dessert. I am usually not picky when it comes to satisfying my sweet tooth. Since I pretty much love any and everything, most treats are usually more than acceptable. But there are a few that get me a little more excited than others. Ooey gooey brownies, freshly baked cookies and yup, you guessed it, dessert pizza. Because the only thing that’s better than having pizza for dinner is having pizza for dessert as well. High five, fellow pizza lover!

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

Dessert pizza is such a quick, delicious and super versatile sweet treat to whip up. In honor of our first 90+ degree day yesterday, I decided to celebrate with one of summer’s best berries – raspberries. Putting a raspberry cobbler spin on our dessert favorite. Since I also happen to be a huge fan of cobblers, I knew that combining two killer desserts into one couldn’t be anything but ah-mazing! [Read more…]

One Recipe, 3 Cookies

I took my go-to cookie dough recipe and perfected it to make 3 of my very favorite cookies: Chewy Chocolate Chunk, White Chocolate Chip Macadamia, and Triple Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cookies!

One Recipe, 3 Cookies

Starting the week off in the best way possible. With a massive post all about cookies. Discussing 3 oh so different cookies that have a common denominator – one amazing cookie dough recipe.

I set out to perfect one of our family chocolate chip cookie recipes that pretty much everyone makes over and over again and knows by heart. It actually happens to be one of the first recipes I ever posted on the blog. Over the years I have stumbled upon and created many cookie recipes (all of which I love, of course). But since this recipe is so special to us and is usually only used for chocolate chip cookies, I really wanted to show its versatility by using it as a base recipe to make the cookies you see here.

One Recipe, 3 Cookies

So technically, our cookie dough recipe can be transformed into 4 different scrumptious cookies. Mind blown. I always knew there was a reason why we all love it so much.

I also want to mention that the base recipe is absolutely lovely and makes the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. But I do always end up tweaking the recipe ingredients a bit just because of the things I’ve learned and tried over the years. The original post can be found HERE. You don’t have to change a thing, but I’m going to be honest and let you know that my updated version of an old classic always gets the most compliments. No matter which recipe you go for, you can’t go wrong though.

Without further ado, let’s jump right in and let me tell you exactly what I did. [Read more…]

Honey Baklava

One of the best middle-eastern desserts: Baklava. This is my go-to recipe, which turns out perfect every time.

Honey Baklava

I haven’t been enamored with a recipe like I am with this one in quite a while. Because when you’re dealing with baklava you don’t want to mess around. If you’ve ever attempted to make your own, you know full well that the process of preparing baklava takes some time and precision. So when you find the ONE recipe you want to hold on to it as tight as you possibly can and never try another recipe again. That basically sums up how I feel about this gem.

Honey Baklava

While it’s true that baklava takes longer than a few minutes to whip up, it is so, so, so worth the effort. If you have had it before, you are probably nodding your head right about now. And you’d also know that nothing compares to the homemade version – as always.

Are you ready for some Baklava Goodness?? [Read more…]
