Caramel Fruit Dip

Here’s the dip that never ceases to amaze those that taste it for the very first time and those that have been eating it for years and years alike. It’s doesn’t look extremely amazing, but you will be hooked at first taste. It’ll forever have a permanent place on our table. A recipe that has been in my husband’s family for generations. It originated from his Grandma’s kitchen, made it’s appearance on my husband’s dinner plate since childhood and continues to do so to this day. It’s his favorite dip of all time. Sharing it during his birthday week seemed more than appropriate.

It has had many names throughout time and is most commonly referred to as “Momma’s Dip” between the two of us.  I chose to name it Caramel Fruit Dip for this post simply because it’s a bit more descriptive. It doesn’t only resemble caramel in color, but it certainly tastes like it, too. That’s what brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla will do to you. Cream Cheese is the binding agent for all of the aforementioned ingredients, which pretty much guarantees a delicious dip.

I have added heath bits or even mini chocolate chips to the dip before. A wise decision without a doubt. But I wanted today’s version to be the original. Either way, make it your own. Enjoy it plain and simple, with the addition of your favorite morsels or change it up completely to make it perfect for your family.

This dip is perfect for pretty much any fruit. Apples, orange slices, grapes, or anything else that’s dippable. There’s no end in sight as to the possibilities of yummies that would taste even more amazing with a good amount of this Caramel Dip on it.
