Pumpkin Spice Bread Pudding

One of Fall’s favorite desserts – Pumpkin Spice Bread Pudding. Get your spoons ready to dig in!

Pumpkin Spice Bread Pudding

You guys, bread pudding is having a moment. At least in my life. There’s a local restaurant in our town that makes an incredible basic version. But there are only so many times one can visit the same restaurant several nights in a row and only order dessert before people start noticing and the credit card starts to smoke. So I finally decided that enough was enough.

It was time for me to stop being lazy, put my bread pudding skills to the test and start experimenting with yet another version. Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to consume copious amounts of said pudding in order to get it just right for the blog.

And since this is the season of all things pumpkin, I couldn’t help but put a pumpkin spice spin on my current favorite dessert. Let me tell you one thing – I don’t think I’ll be going back to that restaurant any time soon. This made-from-scratch Pumpkin Spice Bread Pudding is calling my name. Plus, I can whip it up for a fraction of the cost and enjoy a healthy helping in my comfy clothes watching one of our binge-worthy shows. It’s da best! [Read more…]

Cheesecake Fig Slice

One of our favorite good-for-you desserts. Juicy figs, a silky cream cheese layer, and a nutty base. You’d never guess this is healthy even in the slightest!

Cheesecake Fig Slice

If you’d asked me two years ago if I would ever make a recipe using figs, you would have heard a resounding no from me. I was beyond intimidated by this gorgeous fruit. Even though they’re pretty to look at and have intrigue written all over them, I couldn’t bring myself to picking up a few. And then Costco happened on a Monday morning. Proudly displaying case upon case of the most gorgeous figs I’d ever laid eyes on. Just like that I grabbed a case, made my way to the register, and started this figgy relationship.

Things quickly got serious. I found myself going back for just one more all day long. I don’t even care to admit that I’m completely and totally addicted. And I suppose I have this little blog to thank for that. It’s the one thing that pushes me to try new things, invent new recipes, celebrate the classics, and keeps my life more interesting and exciting than I could have ever dreamed. Which also means that I have to thank you. Because none of this would happen or could be possible without you. Cheesy, but oh so true.

So I hope you indulge me for another couple of minutes as I share with you my new fig obsession. I have a feeling you’ll really like this one. [Read more…]

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

Raspberry Cobbler in Dessert Pizza form. One of the very best ways to enjoy pizza!

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

No pizza night is complete without dessert. I am usually not picky when it comes to satisfying my sweet tooth. Since I pretty much love any and everything, most treats are usually more than acceptable. But there are a few that get me a little more excited than others. Ooey gooey brownies, freshly baked cookies and yup, you guessed it, dessert pizza. Because the only thing that’s better than having pizza for dinner is having pizza for dessert as well. High five, fellow pizza lover!

Raspberry Cobbler Pizza

Dessert pizza is such a quick, delicious and super versatile sweet treat to whip up. In honor of our first 90+ degree day yesterday, I decided to celebrate with one of summer’s best berries – raspberries. Putting a raspberry cobbler spin on our dessert favorite. Since I also happen to be a huge fan of cobblers, I knew that combining two killer desserts into one couldn’t be anything but ah-mazing! [Read more…]

Honey Baklava

One of the best middle-eastern desserts: Baklava. This is my go-to recipe, which turns out perfect every time.

Honey Baklava

I haven’t been enamored with a recipe like I am with this one in quite a while. Because when you’re dealing with baklava you don’t want to mess around. If you’ve ever attempted to make your own, you know full well that the process of preparing baklava takes some time and precision. So when you find the ONE recipe you want to hold on to it as tight as you possibly can and never try another recipe again. That basically sums up how I feel about this gem.

Honey Baklava

While it’s true that baklava takes longer than a few minutes to whip up, it is so, so, so worth the effort. If you have had it before, you are probably nodding your head right about now. And you’d also know that nothing compares to the homemade version – as always.

Are you ready for some Baklava Goodness?? [Read more…]

Chocolate Caramel Mini Tarts with Pretzel Crust

Chocolate-filled Mini Tarts, rich layers of Caramel and salty-sweet Pretzel Crusts. Deeelicous!

Chocolate Caramel Mini Tarts with Pretzel Crust

Happy Monday to you. I hope you’re in the mood for something salty, sweet, chocolaty and oh-so decadent. Yup, we’re continuing the love for all things caramel that started (once again) last Friday and also continuing on with the theme of preparing things I’ve never made before. The success of my first ever cupcakes posted on the blog, certainly gave me enough confidence to try my hand at other desserts that have been swirling around in my head, aka Tarts. So, as I set out to purchase a tart pan and inevitably stumbled upon mini versions, I basically bolted out of the store and headed straight for the kitchen. Inspiration struck at lightening speed. Caramel! Chocolate! Pretzels! Mini Tarts! Sooo much excitement.

Chocolate Caramel Mini Tarts with Pretzel Crust

I was totally up for the challenge of making everything from scratch, but to be honest, I was mostly just hoping that my tart experiment would be successful in the flavor and taste department. Thinking about combining 3 of my favorite things into one epic dessert, basically had me drooling during the ride home.

Little did I know how adorable, beautiful and absolutely mouthwatering these tarts would turn out to be. Mini tarts seriously have it going on! [Read more…]
