Oreo Donuts

These are the ULTIMATE Oreo Donuts. Studded with the actual cookies, dipped in a white chocolate glaze and just as delicious as their crunchy counterpart. But be careful, you won’t be able to stop at just one.

Oreos have been having a real moment in our house. Ever since buying a package of the new thin oreos in New York last week, we cannot stop eating them. It used to be that Peanut Butter Oreos were my absolute favorite. Nobody else ever seemed to care for them, which I was more than happy about. I then fell head over heels for golden oreos and certainly couldn’t get enough of the peanut butter cup ones either. But the current obsession is all about the original kind. And they’re taking over the best thing in the entire world today – DONUTS. Yes, caps are required.

Get ready for incredibly chocolaty and moist donuts with an insane white chocolate frosting. Not only are the iconic cookies crushed and sprinkled on top of the donuts, but the donuts themselves hold pieces of cookies as well. So when I say Oreo Donuts I am not joking. Trashed Up Pretzel Donuts

Homemade Pretzel Donuts dipped in a rich Chocolate Glaze and finished with pretzels, sprinkles, and anything else I could find.

Trashed-up desserts are a thing and always have been. It’s what happens when you make something utterly delicious but then can’t stop adding a whole bunch of other yummy ingredients to set it over the top. And it totally works. It’s a sweet treat you feel somewhat guilty indulging in, but you can’t and don’t really want to stop.

And to be totally honest, these are the kind of recipes that I love sharing with you the most. I am ridiculously giddy and excited about this one.

First of all, any day on which I get to talk about donuts can’t turn out to be anything but fabulous. Secondly, I combined my favorite treat of all time, donuts, with a savory favorite, pretzels, and am now able to enjoy both of them at the same time. I know! Even though it took me quite a few years to think of this combo, I am so, so overjoyed that I finally did.

Glazed Lemon Curd Donut Holes

This is hands down the best recipe for Homemade Donut Holes I’ve ever come across. Filled with Lemon Curd and doused in a Sweet Glaze. Oh my!

This is what happens when I’ve been without donuts for too long.

In case you didn’t know, donuts happen to be my very favorite sweet treat to eat and to bake. No question. I even have to seriously limit myself or you would be reading about yet another donut recipe basically every week. If you’re anything like me you’d be perfectly fine with that, but my waistline would start to protest. So we’re sticking with once in a while for now.

When I think of donuts here are just a few words that instantly come to mind: fluffy, light, sweet, sugary, doughy, and glazed. No wonder they’re the best sweet thing in my opinion.

Another huge bonus is that donuts are commonly known as a breakfast food. There’s no need to finish all your vegetables first during dinnertime in order to feel better about your dessert indulgence later.

Maple Glazed Donuts

Donuts are a must today. They’re the only thing distracting me from what’s happening outside. Given the fact that spring suddenly decided to take a break and let winter strike again with a ridiculous amount of snow, I think we all deserve a donut break.

Even if you’re blessed enough to live in a place where spring has truly sprung, you might want to think about giving these donuts a go. It’s Monday and all of us can use some sweet encouragement to make it a good week ahead.

And to ensure it really is a good week, I decided to go with a baked donut. One that doesn’t sacrifice in flavor, taste or texture and is every bit as delicious as it’s fried counterpart. No, really. Hey Everyone! Did this week fly by or is it just me? Friday kind of snuck up on me and I can hardly believe the weekend is already here. Not that I’m complaining or anything.

Since time has elapsed quicker for me this week, I actually found myself struggling to get things done. I always try to squeeze as many things into my days as I possibly can. Somehow there just weren’t enough hours in the day. It got to the point where I even found it hard to make time for food. Which, um, never ever happens.

I don’t care what’s going on, I don’t forget to eat or find a couple of minutes to throw something delicious together. I have never been able to relate to those that don’t remember to eat for hours on end. But this week was different.

Which definitely got me thinking and eventually led me to share these ridiculously simple cronuts with you. Because no matter what’s going on in your life, you should always find a way to make time for something special! Continue reading →
