Chocolate Dipped Microwave Caramels

Homemade Caramels that only take 7 minutes to make from start to finish! You won’t believe how easy they are.

microwave-caramels Welcome to the first day of August. I can hardly believe I just typed those words. Let’s just say I’m glad we’re talking about the start of another summer month instead of a colder alternative.

So I’m going to be honest. Caramels aren’t the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of summer. Thermometer, lower temperatures (aka no humidity), and patience are some of the things I associate with caramel-making. Now don’t get me wrong, homemade caramels prepared the traditional way is one of my favorite things to do. I get excited every fall when the conditions are just right and we get to enjoy some caramelly goodness again.

microwave-caramels It turns out there’s another way to make caramels. And it’s with the help of your microwave. Who would have thought?

Now there’s no more waiting for anything. You can prepare homemade caramels anytime of the year in about 7 minutes. Best discovery ever? Yes, yes it is. [Read more…]

Melt In Your Mouth Orange Creamsicle Truffles

Truffles can be enjoyed all year around. Orange Creamsicle Truffles will melt in your mouth and are light enough to savor on a hot summer day.

Even though there’s no red, white, and blue going on here, these truffles would be a fabulous addition to your 4th of July grill-out. Although, they taste just as delicious the remaining 364 days of the year. I am pretty sure these yummies will make a regular appearance for us from now on.

Doesn’t Orange Creamsicle just scream summer? As some of you might know, I am a huge fan of truffles and thought that I had to wait until the weather cooled down to come up with new creations. But since patience is not my strong suit and because truffles are a no-bake treat, I was determined to find a version fit for summer.

I especially loved eating these truffles straight out of the freezer. Instant memories of creamsicle pops jumped into my head. It’s just like eating a popsicle in bite-sized form. And since it’s hard to resist anything mini, these truffles are definitely no exception. They are pretty, addictive and ultra scrumptious! [Read more…]

S’moreos

S’mores are gaining a delicious addition – Oreos. Who knew the campfire favorite could taste even better?!

Smoreos

Happy Monday! We’re kicking things off with my favorite new sweet addiction and the one thing I couldn’t get enough of this weekend. Ready?

Yep, we’re talking S’mores today. This is one of those times when I had a brilliant idea and just couldn’t wait to tell you all about it… until google came along and showed me that I am not as clever as I thought I was. Turns out there are other people that discovered S’moreos before it ever entered my mind.

Smoreos

Oh well, better late than never, ha.

It all started with a package of Reese’s Oreos that I picked up last Wednesday. I had been anxiously awaiting for stores to carry them ever since I heard about ’em a couple of weeks ago. Have you had a chance to try them yet? I wasn’t a huge fan of their latest editions, but had no doubt that this one would be the bomb. I am a huge fan of Peanut Butter Oreos and knew that the addition of chocolate just had to be ah-mazing. Can you tell I’m head over heels? [Read more…]

Have I told you lately how much I love blogging? I mean, one day I can post a salad and the next day a sweet treat that will knock your socks off.

I never know where this journey is taking me one minute or what outrageous concoction I can come up with next.

As promised, I didn’t waste a hot second to get back to the sweet stuff. Now this saltine toffee comes from an intense craving for the kind that you usually make around Christmas time. But since I refuse to think about anything that has to do with colder months, I knew I had to come up with a version that’s appropriate for the (hopefully) warmer days ahead.

Easter Chocolate n’ Candy Nests

These little “Easter Nests” are almost too cute to eat. A fun and easy treat that’s no-bake and comes together in minutes.

Easter-Nests

In case you are still looking for something sweet to add to your Easter menu, I have just the right thing for you today.

I wasn’t sure if I should post a recipe as simple as this one. It basically requires no skill and has been around forever. But when I made these over the weekend, I remembered how much I love these tiny nests and had to put them on the blog.

They were practically begging for it.

Easter-Nests

One reason why these nests are so irresistible is the fact that they hold the trinity of all things delicious. Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Butterscotch. Combined with crunchy Chow Mein Noodles and finished with Easter candy eggs, they make for the ultimate sweet surprise. Plus, they have that serious cute factor.

Now that’s my definition of Easter Eggstravaganza! [Read more…]
