Twix Bars

An easy recipe for Twix Bars. Dare I say they’re better than the actual candy bar?!

It feels like an eternity since I’ve last made you a pan of bars. Almost 3 weeks, which is about 2 1/2 weeks too long, if you live in my world. Whenever I develop a craving for some fabulous bars I am convinced that all of you must feel the same way. I don’t even know where this blog would be without them and have an inkling that most of you amazing readers are big fans as well. Immaright?!

Also, candy. I find it much easier to exclude candy I don’t like instead trying to make that difficult, gut-wrenching and basically impossible decision as to which is my favorite. Almond Joy, 3 Musketeers and Babe Ruth are the ones I could do without. There are just too many that are that much better and steal the show every time. Twix candy bars definitely rank high on my list. And because they’re the perfect thing to recreate, I couldn’t wait to make something that might be even better than the real thing – an entire pan filled with chocolaty, caramelly, and buttery goodness. Croissants.

Croissants completely made from scratch. Worth every minute.

croissants

Guys, I don’t even know where to begin.

I made croissants and I can’t get over it. Even though this happened a couple of days ago, I am still on cloud nine. These beautiful pastries came out of my kitchen and actually looked, tasted and smelled like the real thing. It’s a good thing I have proof in form of these pictures or I wouldn’t even believe this is real life. I could have sworn I walked into a bakery the minute these pastries started to get all golden and crisp.

Is there anything better than butter? So, so, so much butter.

I don’t even care if this sounds cliché or that I might be a bit biased, but homemade croissants… there is nothing like it.

And yes, you can do it too. If I can whip up these delicate, light and melt-in-your-mouth pastries, you’ve got nothing to worry about! Continue reading

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I spent a large amount of my time working on a freelance project focusing on, wait for it, Christmas. That’s right. Our home was filled with sweet treats and with the aroma of the most wonderful time of the year. While I love working on side projects in my spare time, I couldn’t get over how weird it felt. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on later this year, but for now I’m glad we’re still months away from said holiday and on the verge of a massive PUMPKIN explosion.

Oh, and don’t forget about chocolate, which is perfect no matter what season we find ourselves in.

I don’t know about you, but we are huge football fans around these parts. Now that the regular season is in full swing (finally), I am all about making foods and snacks that can be enjoyed while cheering on our favorite team and Fantasy Football players. And these cookies definitely hit the spot. Continue reading

Today marks a special day for Deliciously Yum. My blog is turning 1! Yep, that’s right. It’s our first blogiversary. Yay!

Actually… it was last week. After continuously thinking about what to whip up for this sweet occasion, I cannot believe that I missed it. Like totally and completely. Once I woke up Labor Day morning, I realized two things. One – it’s the unofficial start of fall and Two – I missed my first anniversary. Does that make me a bad bloggie mommy?

Can I make it up to you and Deliciously Yum with chocolate cake? Yes? Good. I am glad we’re still talking the same language ;).

I still remember clicking publish for the very first time. A little unsure about what was going to happen next, but beyond excited to share my recipe for Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Still one of the best cookies I ever made to date.

Looking back, choosing to share a cookie recipe as my first post was definitely the right decision. With 27 unique cookie recipes and counting, I was hinting at my cookie obsession and am more than prepared to continue my deep, long love for all things cookies and crumbles.

I am sure I will feel the same way about Chocolate Cake for my first blogiversary when I look back in the future. I mean, Chocolate Cake with an incredible Chocolate Frosting – there’s no question whether or not I made the right decision. Continue reading

Wow, Friday. It sort of caught me off guard that we’re entering the weekend already, which is certainly not a bad thing! Come to realize that Labor Day is just around the corner and that I will be seeing yellow school buses all over on my way to work Tuesday morning.

Goodbye summer – you will be missed. Until I’ll taste my first pumpkin-spiced coffee, that is ;). I secretly can’t wait to drive up to our coffee shop and purchase said beverage. I heard that Starbucks released theirs on Tuesday… not acceptable while we’re still in August if you ask me, but anything goes in September.

So as a last and definitely must-make summer treat, I made you some incredible bars. I stumbled upon them a couple of weeks ago and waited for the perfect moment to prepare them. They have Labor Day Weekend written all over.

And for good reason. Come along and find out how to make these scrumptious bars. Continue reading
