I have really been into glazing everything lately and these bars are no exception. It makes everything so much better ;).

When I was in the process of making this recipe, I couldn’t help but think of the new season that’s right around the corner. Don’t get me wrong, I am not ready to bid adieu to summer just yet, but these bars are a slight nod as to what’s ahead.

Lovely aromas, flavors that will leave you feeling cuddly and warm inside, and everything autumn has to offer is about to take over the food world. Some of my fellow bloggers have already started to whip up a couple of amazing fall-inspired treats, which is getting me more and more excited about all things cozy and comfortable.

But I am not quite ready to welcome said season and am intend on enjoying every last day we have left of summer, which probably comes as a shock to no one.

So Apple Pie Bars it is. Always scrumptious, always a winner, no matter the season. [Read more…]

Cookies ‘n Cream Cookies

My favorite cookies stuffed with Oreos and Cookies & Cream Chocolate Pieces. These cookies are full of crunchy and creamy goodness.

cookies-'n-cream-cookies So, we made it. After almost 72 hours, 2 flat tires and a total of 1000 miles traveled, we’re back safe and sound. I am happy to say that Kansas did not disappoint with stilling my longing for hot summer days. So glad that I was able to experience at least one 90 degree day this summer J. My brother-in-law is set for another year of school and we already can’t wait to go back for graduation next year!

The only thing that didn’t go as planned (besides the 2 flat tires, which were no biggie to fix), was that I forgot to pack my newest cookie creation – these Cookies ‘n Cream Cookies. I’d always wanted to make my own version of Cookies ‘n Cream Cookies and thought that they would be just the thing to bring on a road trip.

cookies-'n-cream-cookies Well, my mind totally spaced and forgot about packing said cookies (how that happened, I do not know), which meant that I had to bake a batch of good ‘ol chocolate chip cookies dorm room style upon arrival. Just as scrumptious, but not quite the same.

Don’t get me wrong, nothing beats a good chocolate chip cookie, but once you bake a batch of cookies and cream ones, they’re all you can think about. [Read more…]

I may or may not have been holding out on you with these cookies. You see, I bake these only every so often because I cannot stand being around them until I have devoured every last one. Even taking a couple of pictures is asking a lot once they come out of the oven :).

There are so many chocolate chip cookie recipes out there, but if you still haven’t found the one or are in the mood of switching things up, this is the recipe for you. It’s the one that has stolen my heart and it might just capture yours as well.

When it comes to baked goods, nothing beats a freshly baked cookie for me. I would be one happy camper if I could only live on cookies for the rest of my life. I just love them so. And to make matters worse, Adam is a huge cookie monster as well, which means we pretty much always have cookies hiding somewhere.

Since I am sharing THE cookie recipe today, I thought it was about time that I’d also share a couple of my no-fail baking tips when it comes to creating the perfect cookie.

If you’re only here for the recipe and don’t care about cookie nerd talk, scroll to the bottom, get the recipe, and get dunkin’. [Read more…]

Sugared Lemon Crinkles with a Sweet Lemon Glaze

Sugar Cookie Crinkles rolled in White Sparkling Sugar and drizzled with a Sweet Lemon Glaze. Yum!

Sugared-Lemon-Crinkle-Cookies

Whenever I think of Sugar Cookies I am filled with all kinds of sweet memories. Memories of me and my mom in the kitchen making the dough, rolling it precisely to 1/4-inch thickness, and cutting out all kinds of different shapes, depending on what season or what holiday was coming up next.

Decorating was next and you better believe I was all about sprinkles. Tons and tons of sprinkles, of course.

The sugar-cookie-process was always a big deal in our house, especially since it took a lot of time and effort. I loved spending all of that time baking away, but what if you only have a couple of minutes to spare and are in need of a serious sugar cookie fix? You go for none other than crinkles.

This recipe doesn’t take any longer than making a regular batch of cookies. No chilling, rolling or cutting out shapes required. And the best part about this method? You don’t compromise taste in the least.

On the contrary, these cookies are so chewy, lemony, and absolutely scrumptious. [Read more…]

Dreamy Strawberry Coconut Bars

A super Easy and Buttery Crust topped with Strawberry Jelly and finished with a Coconut Crumble.

Happy Wednesday, you guys. How about some yummy bars today? Since I apparently can’t get enough of berries and coconut, I just had to combine the two into one tasty treat. That’s what summer will do to me :).

I hope you’re on board with my current obsession because I can’t see an end in sight. There’s something about the beautiful weather that makes me go crazy for anything containing the naturally sweet taste of berries.

Not only do I love the combination going on here, but the fact that these are super light and therefore easy to devour, makes for one dreamy dessert.

My husband is the one who actually inspired these bars. Believe it or not, he isn’t the biggest chocolate fan and would go for anything containing fruit instead. I know – it’s pretty crazy, huh? And he loves my homemade jelly that I make and freeze every year for us to savor until strawberry season comes around again. And that’s exactly what I used for the middle layer in these – strawberry jelly. Mmmmm. You could totally swap out jam or any other fruit preserves you prefer, of course.

The important thing is that you give these a try :). [Read more…]
