Thick and Chewy Reese’s Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Thick and Chewy Resees Chocolate Chunk Cookies by Deliciously Yum!

You guys. Are you ready for another cookie recipe? Because I certainly am. Thick, chewy, and filled with chocolate and peanut butter. And lots of it. The base for this recipe is a peanut butter cookie dough, that is loaded with Reese’s Pieces and Chunks of luscious Chocolate. I love using chocolate chunks in my cookies. They melt beautifully into your cookies and are a bigger than your regular chocolate chip, which is always a good thing.

Not a single bite of this cookie will disappoint – they’re so perfect.

Yeah, this picture says it all. These cookies practically melt in your mouth. You’ll find it impossible to stop at just 3. That’s right, I assume that you’ll be eating at least 3 of them because how could you not? I have yet to meet someone that goes for less than that. Incredible is all I have to say. [Read more…]

Chewy Monster Cookies

Chewy Monster Cookies by Deliciously Yum!

Let’s talk memories. I have always been able to remember things pretty well. It rages all the way from retaining weird information like random people’s birthdays to important things like which recipes I’ll be sharing here. I have list upon list in my head and should definitely focus on writing things down more frequently. Yeah, I’ll get on that.

Anyhoo, no matter what you’re able to retain, one thing most people tend to store really well are memories related to food. It goes without saying that this form of memory doesn’t require much practice or much of anything really. They’re basically built in, which means they must be suuuper important. Even though I feel slightly overwhelmed from time to time and am embarrassed to admit how much of my current thoughts and recollections are consumed by food, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It brought about these fabulous cookies after all.

It definitely was love at first bite. I had these cookies for the first time at my friend, Aimee’s house.

She whipped up a batch of these just in time as we started to settle in to watch one of our favorite shows. It was probably The Biggest Loser or something. ‘Cause that what you do, isn’t it? Eating ice cream or another treat while watching the contestants working out and monitoring their food intake. It’s the mental support that counts, ya’ll. [Read more…]

Flourless Chocolate S’more Cookies

Flourless Double Chocolate Smore Cookies by Deliciously Yum!

It is official! Minnesota is trying to become the coldest place on earth. The Governor closed all schools in the entire State for today. With a temperature of -57 degrees (including wind chill), we have declared a pajama day. There is absolutely no way I’ll be stepping a single foot out of our door, which means hot chocolate and tea will be my best friends today. Oh, and these cookies. As I sat contemplating the drastic temperatures we were about to encounter, I couldn’t help but dream about warmer weather. And what is better than a perfectly roasted marshmallow paired with a piece of chocolate and hugged by two graham cracker halves? Possibly these cookies. Flourless Chocolate S’more Cookies to be exact.

Fudgy, chocolaty and super chewy. From mixing the batter to taking my first bite, these cookies reminded me of brownies. I had no idea how they would turn out, but couldn’t have been more surprised and delighted. Who knew 6 ingredients could make for something so delectable?! [Read more…]

Red Velvet Brownies with Chocolate Lovers’ Frosting

Red Velvet Brownies with Chocolate Lovers' Frosting by Deliciously Yum!

Ho Ho Ho. It’s Christmas Eve.

Few days feel as special as the eve of a holiday or celebration. I have mentioned before that I am lover of eves of big and small occasions alike. This one in particular deserves extra recognition as it’s not only a holiday but also a deeply spiritual day for me and my family. Our hearts are filled with excitement, gratitude and wonder as we ponder the events of this night so many years ago in our hearts. We celebrate the birthday of Jesus with a special cake every year, singing “Happy Birthday” and blowing out candles. Grandma will prepare her chocolate cake with white frosting while I wanted to go a different route this year. Brownies and chocolate started to swirl in my head and before I knew it, I had whipped up a batter of ooey gooey red velvet brownies and prepared the most outrageous chocolate frosting in history. No really. It’s epic!

It’s the recipe that has been floating around the internets for quite some time. The one that The New York Times dubbed as the best chocolate cookie ever. I wouldn’t say it’s the best one ever, but it sure comes really close. It bakes beautifully and the instructions are spot on. You can definitely tell that it’s a recipe which has been thoroughly tested. I could never remember the original title of these cookies (which I guess is “The New York Times Chocolate Chip Cookies”). All I knew was that it had something to do with New York – the reason for my title for the beloved recipe. [Read more…]
