I don’t know about you, but until about a week ago I’d never heard of crepe cake or anything even close to it. I actually discovered it by browsing Youtube and stopping my scroll just long enough to be drawn in by those incredible layers. The tiny thumbnail definitely did it’s job and lead me to a video I just couldn’t get out of my head. I happened to watch it right before going to bed and had a hard time falling asleep in anticipation of what I was going to attempt to make the next day.

Happy Monday, friends! Our outdoor adventures turned into full on spring cleaning over the weekend. Both of us were exhausted by the end of Sunday, but it was well worth it. As long as the weather is nice, I don’t even care what we’re up to. After being cooped up inside for quite some time while winter lasted, I find it funny how excited we were to sweep the garage or take down our outdoor Christmas lights, ha! Hopefully we’ll continue to feel that way once weekly lawn mowing duties come around too… Even though I was running low on energy, I still had enough strength to whip up something delicious in our tiny little kitchen.

Happy November, friends!

I am so excited that this month has finally arrived. Not only are we this much closer to Turkey Day and Christmas, of course, but one of my personal favorites is just around the corner. My hubby’s birthday. I look forward to celebrating his special day every year and this one is no exception.

We’ll have a big birthday celebration here on the blog next week, and in the meantime I’ll be sharing a couple of recipes I’ve been making in preparation.

Before I get into exactly what I’m loving about this cake, I should probably let you know that the only reason why this cake didn’t make the cut for birthday week, is the fact that it screams Kathi instead of Adam. Hahaha.

Hey hey. Did you have a good weekend? Mine is best described by these bars.

After almost an entire week filled with family, sunshine and relaxation, I was more than ready to return to the kitchen this weekend. And I had chocolate on my mind. I actually couldn’t decide between milk and semisweet chocolate when it came to these bars, so for the first time ever, I decided to combine the two and see what would happen.

Can I tell you that I have never tasted anything like these bars?! They’re pretty much a cross between brownies, chocolate cake and some fabulous fudge. The chewiness,  decadence and creaminess (thanks to a layer of amazing chocolate ganache), had me hooked at first bite. I could not keep myself from eating them.

Whew. How did it get to be Monday already and how in the world are we in the middle of April? Is it just me or have the last couple of weeks been flying by?

Like I mentioned on Friday, we attended a family get-together for Easter this past weekend and somehow started planning our summer. Lots of fun activities and mini vacations are in the work – it’s bound to be an eventful summer this year! I’ve already grilled dinner almost every night last week and had my first frozen yoghurt with a dear friend on Saturday. To say I’m excited about everything this warm weather has to offer would be an understatement.

Let’s not mention that it began to snow as we were headed home last night. I am choosing to ignore the temporary dip in temperature at this point. Warm weather HAS to be inevitable!
