Buttery, flaky and absolutely scrumptious hand pies are at the tips of your fingers. Starring cherries – these tiny pies couldn’t be sweeter!

I am finally making my pie debut with a recipe that is so easy to pull off, you won’t be able to stop making them. I mean, who wouldn’t be able to spare 10 minutes in order to enjoy a freshly baked Hand Pie?

All day long is what I’m thinking :).

You could definitely fill them with anything you prefer, but I have always had a thing for cherries. I have great memories of my grandparents and me driving to a cherry farm and picking them fresh from the trees. Afterwards, we’d always sit on their balcony and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Before summer is coming to a close, I knew I wanted to create something that would bring back those fond memories of my childhood. Bite by bite, these amazing little pies are doing just that! [Read more…]

Baked Peach Wontons

Wontons filled with juicy peaches and baked to golden perfection. A dessert fit for summer that the whole family will love!

Dinner time has been incredibly easy to pull off lately.

I am a planner when it comes to our weekly meals and always take plenty of time to write my grocery list and meal plan come Sunday night. I never go a week without asking Adam if he needs anything or has a special dinner wish. To which he almost always replies: “Nah, just get the usual and keep making your yummy food”.

Super helpful. Even though I appreciate his sweet comment, I sometimes hope for a different answer. Because even though I’m a food blogger, I still need help thinking of new dinner ideas here and there. Something changed over the last couple of weeks though.

A couple of weeks ago I tried a new recipe for pot stickers, using wonton wrappers. My hubby has been hooked ever since and can’t get enough. I’ve been making them what seems like constantly to me (I get bored fast), but in reality we’ve had them only once a week. Adam would happily eat pot stickers every night if I’d make them.

His excitement for post stickers has inspired me to whip more recipes using those wonton wrappers. It always seems like I have a ton left over and besides creating something else Adam would love, I was also looking for a way to use them up.

Here ends the story of how Baked Peach Wontons came to be and where utterly deliciousness starts. [Read more…]

Am I the only one who thinks July and therefore summer is going by way too fast?! I am not even close to being ready to think about anything but sun and sunshine. So let’s move on and talk about the topic at hand. Chocolate & PB Brownies.

This recipe was on the back burner for quite some time. I had an inkling that being around these brownies would be more than I can handle. And boy, oh boy, were my suspicions confirmed.

I’m blaming it totally and completely on Reese’s Peanut Butter Oreos aka The Bestest Invention There Ever Was. I am sorta hoping that the limited edition is here to stay. Who isn’t?!

You didn’t think that I would stop at S’moreos, did you? Yeah, you know me. So here’s one of the most epic brownies that almost made it out of our kitchen :). [Read more…]

Dark Chocolate Mocha Avocado Mousse

Dark Chocolate, Espresso and Avocados make for one incredible mousse. A decadent dessert without the guilt!

So, avocados. I’m going to let you in on a little secret and I seriously hope we can still be friends. Up until 3 weeks ago I have never had anything containing avocados. No guacamole, yummy salads or whatever else you make with those green things. I know! I understand you might be in complete shock and quite possibly are reexamining this internet relationship thingy we’ve got going on here.

I honestly don’t know what took me so long. Salads and veggies are one of my favorite things, but for reasons that are even a mystery to me, I just couldn’t get myself to try avocados.

And then my SIL, Rachel, came over and took me to Chipotle (also my first time). We ended up sharing a bowl and there was no escaping the guacamole train.

My world hasn’t been the same since. I keep buying avocados. And what happens when you’ve gone a little overboard and accidentally amassed an undisclosed amount of avocados? You make Dark Chocolate Mocha Avocado Mousse, of course! [Read more…]

Funfetti Donut Muffins

Funfetti, Donut, and Muffins. Do I need to say more? Dipped in a sweet glaze.  I die!

There’s a new muffin in town… at least new to me. I recently learned of the existence of donut muffins. Say what? A donut and a muffin combined into one? Where have you been all my life?! So it probably goes without saying that I needed to get bakin’ to make up for lost time.

I don’t even want to start thinking about all the hours of muffin-donut-eating I missed out on over the years. It would probably be too much for me to take, so let’s focus on my very first encounter with these yummies instead.

They actually remind me a lot of these baked doughnuts I made a while back. With the use of nutmeg and cinnamon that give them that unmistakable flavor of a delectable donut and with the reminiscent texture of a buttery yet light muffin, these definitely have it all.

And to top it all of, there’s sprinkles. Both inside and out. It’s the way to go. It’s delicious, fun and pretty much everything you could ask for. [Read more…]
