I love smoothies. Especially since they’re so refreshing, healthy, and super fast to prepare.

Smoothies used to be more of a snack for me. A way to crush my cravings for something sweet and to get extra nutrients in my body. I never thought that I could find a smoothie that could actually hold me over till lunch and wouldn’t have me reaching for a snack in between.

I happily stand corrected.

My mornings have been completely changed. Before this smoothie came along, not much could motivate me to get out of bed in the morning. Now I can’t get up fast enough and hit up my blender as soon as I open my eyes. I never thought I’d say that I’m excited about breakfasts.

Again, this smoothie is rocking my world.

You can find classic smoothie ingredients like frozen fruit, a banana and yogurt in this one. But what really sets it apart and truly makes it a meal (at least for me) is the addition of oats. I just adore the amazing texture and how hearty yet creamy this smoothie comes out every time.

I am seriously smitten.

The Very Best Breakfast Oatmeal Smoothie
Serves 1
The best breakfast smoothie I've ever made. So fast, so easy, and sooo good!

  1. 1 cup ice
  2. 3/4 cups frozen strawberries or raspberries
  3. 1 medium banana
  4. 1 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt
  5. 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  6. 1/2 cup almond milk
  1. 1. Add the ice, frozen fruit, banana (broken into pieces), yogurt, oats and milk to your blender.
  2. 2. Mix until completely smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

    This looks delicious! For someone watching their carbs, though, this smoothie is extremely high for one serving. I’ll definitely be trying this tomorrow, but halved – that way it’s less than 40g 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  3. Do you cook the oatmeals before adding them to the blender, or do you throw them uncooked?
